How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

While they are at it, they can pass other resolutions too to banish the Euro crises (thanks to Greeks)

Thanks for the useful and considered contribution to debate mate/matess. Sure the world's a better place for your input.

Now clear off back to "CY" 4+4=0 and Tnucland.

Do you seriously think that EU will be silly enough to take such a decision and risk losing Turkey? Get real!!!

You seriously believe Turkey would compromise all her future security for the sake of a "base" in Cyprus?

What do you mean by "losing Turkey"?

Most of the EU would love an easy excuse to avoid incorporating Turkey into the EU.

It's up to Turkey if it wants to be black-balled on it's stance in Cyprus ... a very early end to its aspirations ...

You do realise "ismet", that Turkey would stand to lose TWO things if it failed to respect a deadline ...

First, its EU accession would be severed; and, secondly it would suffer some extra punitive measure such as a direct attack on its economy or constitution ...

Oracle,
You seem to know nothing about the importance of Turkey in respect of military strength, strategic position, economic strength and political importance in the Balkans, the Middle East and the Caucasses. Watch the economic strenth of Turkey and the downward slide of EU economy. Compare the aging population of Europe and the young dynamic population of Turkey but are you in a position to make the right evaluations? I doubt it.

Elko, it seems you are lacking in knowledge of world affairs amigo.....Military strength solely depends on what the usa or europe sells or gives to Turks, one week without spare parts and your military might turns to screws and nuts, #2 Noone really trusts the Turks in diplomacy from the Balkans to the Arabian Peninsula.....Do you really think the EU having a sea full of petro off the coast of Cyprus and the Aegean wont be drilled for, and that the Turk is going to stand in their way, Turkey is a footstep away from being carved up into pieces, just like the old Soviet Union was carved up, who benefits now from this dismantling, your answer "The West"...Iraq was carved up who benefits again? your answer again "The West".....The economic strength of Turkey only depends on the West again,
