Rugby is alive and well in Cyprus, though I am not sure how many teams are involved. The most successful is the Pafos Tigers.
I watched them play a team from Nicosia a couple of year back; the confusion between the Nicosia team players when shouting to each other was hilarious. It comprised Greek speaking Cypriots, English speaking Cypriots, some Afrikan speaking Cypriots (ex-SA) as well as some black UN players shouting out in yet a further language.
Far better than the softies playing soccer who need to be stretchered off when their shirts get pulled.
