You'd have thought the CAF would have developed the capability to travel back in time to defend the island from the Hittites and nipped all this invasion/colonisation malarkey in the bud!

It's kept the free part of Cyprus free half a century. That may well be a record in the island's long and troubled history.

What chance does Cyprus have in defending herself against any of it's neighbours. What purpose does the army have if it is unable to defend the country?

The CNG only started getting serious from about 1980 onwards when they started buying some serious hardware and they've never looked back since.

So, before you deem the CNG "incapable" you'd have to see it in action first wouldn't you?

Yfred i was asking the same thing but with the amount of weapons we have we could easily cause a lot of damage to any attacker, we wont make it easy for them to attack, not that it is likely there will be one in cyprus

If CNG was in defensive mode in all four corners of Cyprus and the Turkish military was to attempt an invasion today they’d quickly find out…
