No guarantees and no guarantors for the RoC.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

On reflection to my reply to GRs post re: CNG, I think Cyprus is better without an army. Cyprus is too small and letting GCs and TCs loose with guns and its anybody's guess what would happen. EU/UN?NATO would be worth considering.

understand but i include cypriots(both g/c and t/c)in the equation so not to feel as a protectorate of one of those instituions.and i hope by having a mixed cypriot battalion to built trust and cooperation between the two communities.

I know what you mean; but with the tragic events still in this generations mind, you suggestion could happen eventually at a later date - then for what purpose? :?

Oh yeah like last time when you used your guarantor powers to be manipulated by Turkey and Nato against the Republic...so the tc could incite violence and chaos because they had the guarantor treaty...and then complain that louronjina was being attacked.

No it isn’t! TCs are NOT a country to be in a position make such decisions. The official national guarantor is the CNG whether you like it or not.

Keep up that mentality and it will be partition, old chap.

As if you've got such a option... your days are numbered.

What number shall we start from then for a count down, or do you not watch the program?

Or accept the alternative enosis and sign your own death warrant.

GR, we cannot have the CNG; we must have a name change: CNA - Cyprus National Army. In many TCs eyes, the CNG has negative connotations.

Problem is, if you “can’t” have the country’s very own military guard, and you “can’t” have the country’s very own ancient inheritance because you don’t like it, and you “can’t” have the country’s very own people because you can’t stand them, you “can’t” have the country’s very own predominant language because you don’t know it, and you “can’t” have the country’s very own…. etc, etc

THEN WHAT THE DAMN FUCK ARE YOU TURKISH ALIENS DOING IN CYPRUS ANYWAY???

The only way Cyprus can move forward is to be de-militerised completely.
Get it, no guns. Put them guns down.

I think this is a great idea, YFred. And when the rest of countries of the world disarm (starting with Turkey), and no longer pose a threat to Cyprus's sovereignty, Cyprus should follow suit. But doing so before would be reckless.

Don't be stupid. You know very well it will never happen. Cyprus does not need an army so long as it has no ambition to attack anybody. If there was no army in cyprus in 74, Turkey would have no reason to be in cyprus.
Now you are showing your age.

I just dropped the armed forces of Malta a note telling them to disarm as, like Cyprus, the island had no ambition to attack anybody. I signed it "YFred".

Here are their details:

http://www.maltaspotting.com/maritimesquadronafm.htm

They emailed me back by return saying, "Don't be stupid, YFred. How old are you?"
