Thank you Palio, hopefully it will never be needed because we can live peacefully, in return everyone should be allowed to live anywhere they wish on the island.

Thank you, Viewpoint. Of course Turkey's Reich will need to be dismantled first; to make everyone else on the island (ie. who isn't you/an outlaw) feel safe. It is a small price to pay to see the island reunited.

Dont worry about that if we thought the deal was right for us we would get them to leave, leave that part to us.

No, you misunderstand, VP. I mean Turkey's Reich.... in Turkey!

On this BBF pollocks ......

Back in the late '70s when this scheme first saw the light of day, was under the impression, as perhaps were others here, that we were talking a tissy zone of a size approximate to population ratio with local powers, perhaps a local police force, but powers equivalent to say the powers of the present day districts, and with some kind of effective participation in national government.

Regretfully over the years, some (including appeasing grissy politicians) have grabbed the idea and worked on it, until today we have a BBF which is becoming indistinguishable from Partition.

:) i am glad we agree.

Yes i am 100% sure it would never be needed, especially in this day and age.

anywhere they wish exchange the land back keep the current land they should be able to live.

but the issue of land i think remains one of the hardest obstacles, sold land and occupied land. so many foreigners who now have paid money for land that they will fight hard to keep. it wont be easy in some cases to resolve.

Palio we have to be practicle with the land issue if land has been utilized then alternatives have to offered like compensation or alternative land. The cost Will have to be paid by those that have utilized the land with dwellings rent can be paid for transition periods until its returned to the original owner.

yes the land issue is a big one i think a big obstacles, but its not helping our land being sold to foreigners. the original owners should have the choice to do what to do with it sell, exchange, compensation, maybe some of the owners are not even around to know or care about their land.

also in a unitary state what would you propose we did with the national anthem and flag? each use our own make make new ones?
