Anyone who demonises an entire race of people out of sheer prejudice is an an enemy of the country he or she professes to belong to.

its called being cautious due to past experience

You don't seriously think the Greek Cypriots would ever launch military action against the Turkish Cypriot community, do you?

Even ignoring that Turkey is just minutes flying time away, this is the year 2010 and we've moved three decades and a new Millenium on from the troubles of the 1960s and 1970s. That was an era of military dictatorships around Europe. Today not one of them survives.

I think some people need a victim mentality to fill their personal identity vacuum.

thats what i was trying to tell VP also that the gcs would never attack tcs and especially with an army just 75km north of cyprus.. but he insists that once turkish army leaves they will not be able to return and we will kill them as soon as they step out of cyprus.. because they would care about any law telling them not to come back because they did listen to un and ask permission before they came in 74 ;).. but now we are in eu they wont be able to come back according to VP and yes we will kill them..

there is no changing VP's mind he will always live in the past and be scared of something that will never happen.. its a poor excuse that was barely viable in the 74 invasion

Just saying it wont happen is not enough to entice Tcs towards unification with no security guaratees, just as you do not trust Turkey we do not trust you GCs is that so hard to understand? Why are you afraid? do you not trust yourselves to act correctly? if there are no problems then these guarantees will become redundent, we have no rpoblem with you haveing whom ever you wish why do you deny us this right?

Thank you Palio, hopefully it will never be needed because we can live peacefully, in return everyone should be allowed to live anywhere they wish on the island.

Thank you, Viewpoint. Of course Turkey's Reich will need to be dismantled first; to make everyone else on the island (ie. who isn't you/an outlaw) feel safe. It is a small price to pay to see the island reunited.

Dont worry about that if we thought the deal was right for us we would get them to leave, leave that part to us.
