Which Currency

Postby allan@ur » Thu Jul 21, 2005 2:00 am

Have been told it’s the Euro. And have now been told its Cypriot pound. Which is it?

Thanks

Allan – Firstly welcome to the forum. I’m not being pedantic here but what is the question? If you are asking what is in use in Cyprus at the moment it is the Cyprus pound. (I presumed from your two alternatives – euro / pound you are referring to the Southern part of the Island) You will get a better rate of exchange on the Island than elsewhere if you are intending to travel. Hope that helps………

I think we are being asked whether Cyprus uses the Cyprus £ or the Euro? So, Allan, the answer is the Cyrpus£, although we joined ERM2 a couple of months back so are on course to enter the Eurozone in 2007.

Cheers

Hi demetriou

The UK£ dropped 3c against the CY£ following the first round of London bombings, subsequent events have not helped.
