You mentioned that you don't like the general Aussies attitude towards life, their overcompensation and value towards material possessions. Mate, I'll tell you what all those traits you don't like are apparent in Cypriots (TC or GC) to a degree that makes Aussies look like angels.

That may be true,Umit, but Cypriots have other qualities that compensate for their materialism...Aussies have none... :(

All I can say Bir is that if you ever do relocate to Cyprus a huge reality check awaits you. Today I was with an old family friend who has just come back from Cyprus after struggling there for nearly two years. He was talking about how nobody stops at zebra crossings, one day he got pissed off and jumped in front of a car at a crossing, the driver slammed the brakes to stop then got out of the car and yelled, "Hastamisin olan?" ( "Are you demented or something?" ), I thought this incident sums up the general Cypriot mentality.

No, Deniz but after all this time you'd expect some kind compromise. Just look where we are now, we're debating whether Makarios wanted Enosis or not! FFS! It's just absurd!

Yes, it seems that way to me too.

I first came here doing a bit of research. Views are very limited here due to less than a handful of posters doing most of the posting and just repeating themselves ad infinitum.

Whoever it was that mentioned the CyProb being left to CFers to sort out? Well, if it was it would never get sorted would it?

I agree. When you have them referring to the Ottomans in 1571, what chance for a solution.

The crap which they spout doesnt help either. They even deny that Pres. Makarios wanted ENOSIS. These are the people we are dealing with. I am glad that the CF;rs are not doing the negotiations; that would be end of a united Cyprus.

Thought I'd bring up this old thread. It seems most of the old folk posting here have finally fled, with hardly any TC posters left GC posters have diverted their attention towards the "enemy" from within. Personal insults and attacks are the norm, is there any reason to even post anymore?

And when personal attacks and insults were not the norm? It is the Cyprus Problem forum. What did you expect? Now it is actually better than before since less TCs means less provocations and insults to which we had to respond!

Someone has to do it, come here and educate all the idiots who believe that the gc did not start the problem in the first instance, and that the situation was resolved in 1974.

Now there isn’t a problem, apart from the totally unjust embargos on the TC’s which will shortly be removed.

Bye 4 now

Well, well, the shit comes out of the sewer to take a breath.

The Cyprus problem is simple, it is the turks, get rid of them, problem solved.

Now get back into the shit where you belong.
