A painful compromise

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

If you bend over a little they might listen to you...

fwnh I like you, you seem to hold a balanced opinion.

The issue for guarentee is a huge one for TCs and with people like Get Real (Who is a reservist in the national guard btw) I think you can see why.

But I understand your point about the GCs opposition to Turkey as a guarantor so are we at am impasse? As this seems like it is red line for both of us.

What do you suggest and remember that it would have to be very attractive and make the TCs feel very secure for it to have chance of being accepted?

If you get repatriated to Turkey will you still need a guarantor?

why would i go to Turkey its you i dont trust to behave that why guarantees are necessary

Nobody can guarantee your safety if you’re a nuisance to Cyprus, or in any other country for that matter.

What, you want to live under an expensive protection scheme all your life? Why not just throw you out altogether? Problem solved!

Throw us out!!!!!
There is me thinking that you were a Cypriot.

First of all Get Real is not a person, he's a tool.
well as far as i know some proposals were, to keep some army from both sides, another was to completely demilitarize the island. But the problem does not lay there anyway, if the TC's do not feel secure then we cannot have a peaceful state, if they feel threaten by the GC's in any way how can the both sides leave in harmony?
how long have the borders been open? what bad has happened since then ?

I wonder if Tiberius (with a keyboard) and his bunch of unmerry men and women will ever realise that they cannot threaten the TC community with financial ruin and/or physical annihilation and/or collective exile, and expect them to tell Turkey that her protection is no longer required... :? :? :?

you do not cut down the tree when it has a rotten apple.... i understand the fear of the past but i cannot see how it's justifiable in the present? these people that threaten the other side, are in fact people form both sides but they are not the majority and their voices will be drawn when a peaceful solution comes in hand, a dog that barks does not bite
