I came upon the video of the beating on Armenia street of G. Ioannou and M. Papageorgiou that happen a couple of years ago, it made some big headlines at the time.... and i really wanted to know what was the conclusion of that case, that is what happened in court.I remember the policememen were found non-guilty as the person who took the video didn't wanna reveal his identity and testify in court... but they were ongoing appeals. I hope someone that remembers the case could share his knowledge on the subject.

For those that don't know the case, the video captured by an unknown civilian shows 10 policemen (MMAD) dressed as civilians kicking and beating up the 2 students, that were walking home after a night out, while being handcuffed and laying on the sidewalk.

also in the north and south what happened to the two drunks holding flags of the other side.. in th enorth a drunk tc with cypriot flags who they thought was gc and south the other way turk flags..

I don't condone the beating of these guys once cuffed, but I have been told from a reliable source that (and this is what the tape does not tell you) in between the beatings the perps were shouting insults to the coppers, about their mothers, sisters, wives. There is no audio, so you don't hear it. This is why there is a start-stop of the beating, they would hit them when they shouted the insults.

Until you have all the info, you cannot judge. On first inspection, i would have hung the coppers, but after I heard that I had a different view.

Yeah I agree with B25, As in the video shown they were shouting back. If they kept silent things would flow in the right track

the boys were home after a night out they had more than 60mg of alcohol when they were given an alcotest after 2 hours!! to use the fact that they were shouting insults justifies the fact that they were beaten?!!? PLEASE!!! and yes i can hear the boy shouting very clearly... "kick me on the face again you pussies, kick me on the face again"... yeah i guess that justifies it lol

in any case there is no law in any free country that allows beating of civilians based on abusive language... plz tell me how would you react? if you were drunk, aproached by civilian clothed policemen (and we all know how many of them use their job to let out the frustration of their miserable lives) aggresively, being cuffed, thrown to the sidewalk and get a nice beating and kicking in the face... how do you justify that? really?
