What percentage of income is tourism

I would love to know how revenue is gained from tourism, indirectly including farmers ,car hire, etc .I was told it is only 12% ..of gross nation income .

Some countries depend very heavilly on tourism. A massive chunk of GDP comes from Tourism in places like the Bahamas and Bermuda. As Gibraltar is both a tax haven and a military base, thankfully we don't have to worry too much about tourism. It's just like the dollop of jam on the cream bun: It's a nice addition.

I read in an encyclopedia that the "TRNC" is a place that without the benefits of both tourism and cash infusion from Turkey, it would not survive.

I thought it was round about 15% of GDP nowadays, according to official figures.
