What is to happen to Turkish settlers if there is a solution

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Thats a lie!!

Cyprus abstained. ANd it wasn't for the withdrawal of Russian forces but for Georgian citizens to re-enter Osetia

Well noticed DT.

Why does he do this? :(

You have Buckley's chance of intimidating Bananiot into silence, with stupid accusations like that...If you two had one brain cell between you,you would realise that Bananiot singlehandedly gives all GCs some credibility and humanity in the eyes of the TCs...

Someone who has evidently gone out of his way to distort reality to do down his country - simply to make you feel good - gives all free Cypriots some credibility?

What are you, a child? Or someone who gets his kicks watching others self-flagellate?

I think you both need to familiarise yourself with the concept of DIGNITY.

So, are you saying that Cyprus was wrong to abstain? Are you then, "doing down" your country? Simply because you do not agree with the policies of the present government? Is this your idea of loyalty?

I am saying you distorted what happened, consciously or subconsciously, turning "abstention" into "voting against" - which I hope you'll be able to acknowledge - are very different positions to take.

No, disagreeing with your government is not "doing down" your country. Deliberately distorting its actions, to make it sound a lot worse than it is in reality, is what I call disloyalty.

And my beef here is really with BirKibrisli. Because he encourages this undignified behaviour in you.

Bananiot, if Cyprus was not occupied by your Turkish friends, and if your Anglo-American friends were not supporting the Turkish side, then there wouldn't be any need for us to support Russia on this issue.

The reason we do it is obvious. Russia is the member of the security council which has supported us the most and we need that support to continue.

Note that we just abstained, we didn't vote against. Abstain in this case translates to "We are not able to express our opinion because we stand to lose if we do so".

So, we now acknowledge that above morals and democracy come self interests. You should have no more concerns about the stance of the Angloamericans Piratis. They look after their interests and we should look after ours. Our debate now should concentrate on where our interests lie. With the EU or with Russia. Remember, picking the right partners is what true patriotism is all about. As far as the Georgian refugees are concerned, too bad ... or simply, bad luck! Anyone that talks about morals should as for now just shut it!

P.S. In my view, abstention is worse than voting against. The west, in this case, knows very well why we abstained and it does not need a forum member to spell it out to them. Flirting with Russia, on the other hand, has no positive bearing on our plight, rather it makes things worse for us, since we lose leverage with those that counts.

We are not the ones who violate the rights of anybody else. We are just not in the position to protect others, we are not a super-power.

Our world is jungle and we have to play the game. We have no other option.

Russia is a friendly country and we are not going to destroy our relationship with them so you and your friends will be left alone to get what you want from our island.

That is totally pervert! I must say I wouldn't expect such a response from you Piratis. Have you read what you wrote? You have just written that it is fair to support others violate human rights of some hapless people, simply because the violator is considered to be a friend! We do not violate (how could we) but we can suppot other violators!

Piratis, you have just waived away your right to talk about democracy and human rights. These were the trademarks of all your previous posts. Now, every time you write about these, we will simply chuckle with desdain.

You first have to show where I wrote that it is "fair to support others violate human rights". I never wrote this, and Cyprus never did this either.

And I never waived any of our rights for human rights and democracy. These rights are universal and you can not deny them to us.

We do not have the power to help Georgia, and we do not expect from Georgia to help us either. However i fully recognize the right of the Georgians to fight for their own human and democratic rights. If for example the Georgians round up all the traitors and shout them dead, they will have my full support.

I wasn't judging Bananiot on one post only...with each post that he writes he lifts your credibility and humanity in TC eyes...But your heart is too bitter with hatred to see that...
Everyone can make a mistake,or can be misled...But let me ask you one thing,MP...Are you proud that Cyprus has abstained from voting for the return of the Georgian refugees to their homes??? Cyprus that has her own humanitarian refugee problem failing to show compassion and empathy for the Georgian regugees....Are you proud of that...??? And you taklk about DIGNITY and tell me off when I say Bananiot gives all GCs humanity that some of you certainly seem to lack...

So you must understand now why the TCs reacted the way they did faced with your Enosis jungle...They too had no other option...They had to play the game...The game of survival!!!
