romans, byzintines ( i actually dont want to call them greeks) founded the city yes. but obviously they discovered the beautiful land and took it. it wasnt given to them automatically.
many greek professors today even claim that byzintines werent greeks we know today. they were a mix of local anatolians. (todays Armenians, assyrians, kurds, greeks, etc) they were even writing in latin before they made the official language greek.
ottomans were similar. many professors believe that calling ottomans turks is wrong.
i am thinking in terms of language and religion.
ottomans came and conquered the byzintine empire. the controlling power changed. people who were speaking turkish and who were muslim were now (and still is) in control. local people have not changed much. people who stayed orthadox and spoke greek language (who refused turkish influence) lived under ottoman rule until the population exchange in 1920s.
troy example is a great one. this is how the world worked. it was imperial age. have you ever played AGE OF EMPIRES
So you think the world works like a computer game...conquer by any means possible. How many Turks think like you? No wonder your governments have comited so many acts of ethnic cleansing.
Anyway, the GREEKS who aparently discovered the beautiful land settled there. Just like the ancient Greeks (before Alexander the Great) settled on the north coast of Africa without conquering...because there was either no one there to conquer or they were assimilated (and this is from an African website....not a Greek one)
and can you give me proof that Greek people were writing in latin before they were writing in Greek? Because whehter you like to admit it or not...Greeks were living ont he north and western coast of Asia Minor before the first ever Seljuk Turk. Is all this another Turkish propaganda trait...like Abdullah 'the bullshiter' Gul saying St Nick was an early Christian Turk or and that many of the old Greek churches in Turkey are early Turkish Christian churches??
As for Troy, that story is half fact and half myth...besides, the Trojans were most probably another type of Greek race...remember the Ionanins who founded Athens, were Greeks from the west coast of Asia Minor who sailed accross the Aegean. Those same Ionians settled in Cyprus too.
