How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Looking for an Explanation

If the occupied North wants to resolve the Cyprus problem as evidenced by its support of the Anan Plan, then why does it continue its annual celebration of the invasion? What kind of mixed message is this? I don't get it. :?

Understood, but still I ask, "Why celebrate the anniversary of the invasion?" This is a Turkish celebration in Cyprus, not a Cypriot celebration. As Demetriou wrote it's a do-as-the-Turkish-government-says mentality that doesn't serve the cause for peace and unity. I see it as a slap-in-the-face to all Cypriots. Don't you?

is It difficult to understand "your invasion" protected their life.

It is mostly slap for GC.
Like papapodolous is slap for TC.

Its quite simple, what you call invasion, TC call intervention. For TC's its a celebration of an end to years of persecution.

Their sovereignty, dont forget 30 years ago GC's tried to take advantage of a surprise attack over the island so enosis could be declared before the Turkish army had time to intervene. I'm not saying enosis would be a target today, but a weak undefended minority could be if there was no deterrent.
