I am glad to notice that you refer to Tcs as minority, although their rights are equal to Gcs' rights.
Anyway, you believe that if the occupation army go back to its turkish camps there will be any kind of "troubles" in CY?

You only have to look at the threats South has been issuing to arrest anybody from abroad who buys pre74 GC property. There are indeed provocations which could lead to another intercommunal conflict. At least the Turkish armys presence is a big enough deterrent to keep the peace.

Gald to notice once again that in your vocabulary you have key words such as "Minority" & "GC properties", bravo.

What provogations and green horses ( ) Kahn?? Since illegality is your law then you will find CyR and international law in every step you make.
And to be honest you opened our eyes by opening the "borders", we see what you are doing with our land and properties and now it is easy for us to take the appropreate measures to prevent this illegality and those who take advantage our preperties.
What do you expect Khan, shall we congradulate you for selling OUR properties to foreigners? Shall we encourage you on this? What do you suggest?

On the other hand since you admit that there are illegal sales of OUR properties, why you don't do something to stop this illegality instead of accusing Gcs for provocations?
What if the Gcs or CyR started selling Tc properties? what would you do? wouldn't you react? :?

We are in a state of truce, not a state of peace. The difference is subtle, but critical. We have severe political disagreements, we hate each other's leaders, we have no official contact with each other, and we are constantly at a race on who will discredit the other more effectively. This is not peace, in fact it is an accident waiting to happen.

No disrespect intended Alex but for me and many TCs its Peace. The fact that we can live a life where we are no longer threatened by GCs and their hidden agenda to persecute us into existinction and convert the whole of Cyprus into a Greek state is a peaceful existence for me.

alex l

brilliantly put, spot on, especially the bit about who can discredit the other most.

Come the turkish/eu talks in October much can change, but probably we'll just get a lot of talk and paper signing with clauses that wont really mean anything.

out of interest where how do you see cyprus in thirty years time?

VP your point is taken, but i think officially turkey remains in a state of war, observing truce.

In this one, I agree with the GC opinion that we are not in peace, at least not in a complete one. Peace will come when ideally all people(practically most people) have what they deserve to have without relying on the guns...

gabaston & detailer although I appreciate your technical explanations the reality is that since 1974 we have not had to bear the problems of the 50s 60s and fear GCs persecution and them ours, so Peace for me is now, recognition economic development wealth etc are all secondery issues for me, the safety of my family is paramount.
