Let's come back down to earth by keeping in mind that .... "Nothing is agreed until everything has been agreed"

Excellent! First item on the agenda of the conference is reparations for the distinct lack of "guarantees and security" in 1974, including for the five thousand or so civilian dead, and the two thousand or so civilian missing, presumed dead.

Once they've paid reparations for the crimes committed against Cyprus and its people they can all f*ck off; take their troops, their bases, their guarantees and their security with them.

without some big sign on the land issue, a recognition that the displaced as an issue starts in the sixties, there will be very little hope for ending the 'fait accompli". thus, i suggest that "greek" enclaves and "turkish" enclaves, scattered across the isaland as it is today is an effective and efficient way to repopulate: allowing for Individuals to return as they left, at least for some, in Community; allowing for the Humanitarian gesture of Turkish Cypriots supplying homes, rather than houses to their brethren; Free movement, association, and expression; Bizonal, constituencies made up of components.

i think ecevit came up with this, i'd find it hard to believe the Turkish State sees no advantage in it.

Bicommunally, if the arguments are framed correctly, our Rights as Persons sustain themselves in National Assemblies (where over deliniated territories, its electorate provides for themselves the services they need in their daily lives.) Yet, where we are all the same, as Individuals, our Rights can be protected by a Sovereign State which makes no discrimination in their defence.

the choice will be for Turkey to make, but i do not believe it makes much difference Talat or Eroglu(bet i spelled this wrong) if there is no change in what is "Turkish" for them to relate. Talat could go for it, i bet he would win on a platform which defines bizonal with enclaves. So could Eroglu, he say he wants to be more forceful...
