Tim,

Like me, I think you suspect that this may be hearsay, a chinese whisper or an urban myth, call it what you want, going the rounds.

The whole thing sounds too implausible - someone with no insurance being treated in a private hospital instead of being sent to a public hospital - for some reason telling everyone he is on the run from the UK law - being treated by a Turkish nurse, who just happened to have treated the patient in Istanbul - being in so much pain he needs lots of morphine but complaining about the TV?

I'm sure demonizing TRNC Brits is a favourite sport in RoC - I know everyone in the UK is fed up with migrants overrunning the NHS, or so many there like to say.

Come on, you couldn't make it up....

they where not telling everyone i was being nosey and listening to them ;p

and the woman said tot he man there is football i wonder what teams and he replied its all in greek anyway and more complaining

You have absolutely nothing to do with the Brits living in the TRNC. It wasnt your land, so why start getting on your high horse calling us carpetbaggers and pigs ?

You just cosying up to the Greek Cypriots as you live in ROC ?

(The land my property is on was not owned by a GC by the way.Thats all you need to know, not if it was Turkish, British or whatever title deeds. Again not your business, I dont ask you who owned your land.I now legally own the land, I bet you just hate that !!!)

Basically piss off slagging off people who built on exchange land unless youthink you may have a lawful claim to the land.

Maybe he is, but if you were one of them, would you actually tell anyone, let alone strangers you were asking help from?
The whole story is so unlikely, you'd really need to be very guillible indeed to credit it.
This just has to be an anti Brit "carpetbagger" story to keep the pot boiling in the GC camp, and it says a lot about anyone prepared to give it credence.

Ok, I have a lawful claim on land in Morphou and Kyrenia. I have already discovered who has built on our land in Kyrenia and have started work on legal proceedings.

Am I allowed to slag the people off now?

What is "exchange" land? Is that what you've built on?
