If he’s a carpetbagger then he deserves to croak! :D

And I'm unanimous about that... 8)

anw i hope this guy gets better soon.. though you cant expect much when you go buy land in an illegal state and expect a good life there. if it was a 20yr problem why did he come here and not stay in england where they havem great care?

no no we are definatly talking about two different people. the guy i am tlking about was in the intensive care and is now in 209 on the second floor.

thats a racist remark toxo.
give the guy a break and keep away from the apparent conflict between north and south side.
he prob isnt even interested in the conflict/invasion of 74, he just wants to get on with his life like everyone on this planet.
you say you hope he hets better and you felt sorry for him, it sounds like you hate the guy for moving to north cyprus and if it were up to you,you wouldnt of let him in the hospital.
sorry but its a bit much and being racist is not on in this case.

well let me first say aboutm the first post you made... It was the same nurse and she is the one who told me. I did not expect bs from here if it was because she was the same nurse she had in instanbul and thats what she told me.

Secondly i was not trying to be racists i think you miss understand what i was trying to say.

Firstl.y this person is talking aboujt some one completely different in another room. Secondly the health carre in the uk is 1000 times better then even south cyprus. If this guy had the prroblem for so many years he would of been better in uk with better doctors. I was not trying to be racist because they want to send my brother off to uk with the same kind of injuries this man suffers and the doctors really wwant to take him to the uk. I dont see why he put his life in trnc and turks hands when clearly they made things worse for him.

Oh yes and my fathers cousins husband is one of the co founders of the hospital so we do have a lot of say there.. He was there when there where only a few doctors and is very important man there... We are close to him and could of easily tried to do something if i felt that way.. Do i hate foreigners moving into the north and being completely pro turkish and calling us greedy? Hell yes!

Would i turn away a dying man and let him die or her die? Do you really think i am so low? ;(

Sorry to be flippant, but the bit that sticks out the most here is:
"...my fathers cousins husband is one of the co founders of the hospital so we do have a lot of say there..."
Honestly, you do have to laugh. Only in Cyprus could being a relative of your fathers cousins husband give you enough muscle to throw your weight around in a multi-million pound private hospital....   And he's only a co-founder!!

Sorry.

i know in england it does not work the same and such low jobs are nothing. but you forget we are in cyprus... in cyprus you have to take tests to be even a banker and its very hard to get the simplest of jobs..

a co founder here in cyprus is considered a very good and high power job where everyone in the hospitals kisses hiss ass and pretty much does what he tells them.

so inj england its h hes nothing just a co founder.. but here its much more ..

As a side issue to this, British children resident in the TRNC are attending schools in the South, coming across each day.

There are no issues with other children at school or problems.

Before you jump on this issue just think...

It gives hope that the next generation might live in peace. Our generation has made a mess of it.

I shouldn't laugh and I'm really not telling you I know more about Cy than you do. Really, I'm not.
I know this a language thing and a sense of humour thing and I'm being unfair, but the idea that I could walk into the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and say:
"My fathers cousins husband is co-founder of this hospital." and expect that it would give me a lot of "say", would have them rolling around in stitches (excuse the pun).
Sorry.

Seriously though, it is this kind of expectation that alllows Cypriots to slaughter themselves behind the wheel because they just say, when pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt "My fathers cousins husband is a police sergeant", and get let off. That's not funny and I'm sorry for going off-thread.

Hi Palio,

No, mate. Largely speaking the average Brit pays his parking tickets, wears a seat belt and gets in the queue, just like everybody else.
Try telling an English copper that your aunties, sisters, cousins......and he will either laugh in your face or bang you up for trying to pervert the course of justice.
For English people, most of whom don't even know their aunties cousins father in law, the concept is, well, lets call it quaint. For a policeman to let you drink and drive, thinking he is doing you a favour, is completely ridiculous, to our way of thinking.
But don't get me wrong, they are just the same up here in TRNC - every bugger is related and they all expect and get special treatment.
:)
