This is a follow up to my previous thread entitled "Should Greece have bases in Cyprus"?

It seems that most are against this idea, which is fine. I also understand that line of thinking and am also predisposed to agree.
But what is shocking is the fact that Greece, to this very day, continues to maintain a very indifferent attitude towards Cyprus, despite betraying the island nation by conducting the disastrous Coup on 15 Jul 74!
In my thread, it became even more apparent, that Cyprus should indeed go it all alone, because Greece can only be our biggest liability since Greeks are even Greece's biggest liability.
So there we have it. Greece should NOT deploy 40,000 troops on Cyprus.
But what about the 1,100 existing ELDYK troops already in Cyprus?
Well, if Greece is not prepared to take responsibility for the Cyprus Problem, or behave as a Guarantor should, then there really is no point for these troops to be in Cyprus. I believe they may indeed be a liability as all "Greeks" usually are! No offense to the heroic ELDYK veterans of 74 who served Cyprus valiantly against the Turkish onslaught.
Perhaps the 1,100 ELDYK troops should also withdraw! This will give the RoC new ammunition to argue the invalidity of the Treaty of Alliance and Guarantee, since neither of the tripartite powers have behaved in a manner that has served the interests of the RoC or kept their side of the bargain by Guaranteeing the territorial integrity of the RoC.
I propose that the 1,100 Greek Troops in Cyprus pack their bags and be escorted under a heavily armed Choirokitian CNG force, just in case they have get up to anything funny, out of Cyprus.
I voted YES!!!!
