So I understand your web-site in Portugal called
http://www.villa4-u.comis dealing with the sale of villas, and has nothing better to do other than collecting pictures for propaganda purposes against the GCs as this one
http://www.villa4-u.com/Enosis.JPGMay I ask the location of the villas you are selling or do I have to guess?
Interesting...
Brian, as you stated, that picture was from the 50s, when Enosis was no directed against the TCs so much as the British, so that has nothing to do with this discussion. In all my travels in Cyprus (and I've been almost everywhere, particularly in the mountains), I have never seen something analogous to the Pendedactylos flag anywhere, even where mountains in the GC controlled areas overlook flat land to the north, where such a flag would be visible for miles. This flag discussion is about the present day and why the flag remains.
Out of interest, I'd like to ask the TCs on the forum a question. Firstly, as I asked previously, when was the flag put up there? Was it 1983? Surely this flag has to be maintained as the whitewash on the rocks will degrade, so there must be a budget for this somewhere, or is it maintained by extreme nationalist groups rather than the government. Also, if the flag is unpopular in the north, why isn't it removed? Has anyone asked the government to do something about it as a gesture of friendship. If, for example, it was replaced with a huge dove, would this not be a massive propaganda victory for the north? I'm sure it would be covered by news organisations from outside Cyprus.
