It's radio, not video. You may not be able to access outside UK.

To summarise...

Introduction: UN SG Ban Ki-moon arrives in Cyprus to encourage compromise. Deadline approaching. Fear Eroglu will be elected and halt negotiations, ending Turkey's EU accession.

British army major interviewed: 45% of sovereign bases to be given up to entice solution.
Carpetbaggers in north interviewed: Concern, uncertainty following Orams result. Moaning at international community. Belief talks will fail.

Condition of Turkey's EU accession is to open its ports to Cyprus.

UN spokesman interviewed: Acknowledges much work needs to be done in negotiations.
Cypriot peace activist interviewed: Leaders should take risk, agree and sell a deal. "You have to dream sometimes".

Dimplomats however aren't hopeful. Gaps too wide, Eroglu election would be a disaster.

Professor of international relations interviewed: Turkey in firing line. Time bomb simmering. Turkey cannot avoid commitment to EU to open ports to Cyprus. Failure of negotations will result in structural showdown between Turkey and EU. Turkey cannot get away with not meeting legal obligations indefinitely.

Conclusion: Without agreement, Turkey's EU ambitions will be dust.
