100.000 greek soldiers 44 k turkish ones.. if we where going to attack we would of even now with 44 k army troops the chances of attack are 0

100.000 armed reservists and 12.000 GC army, even if you had 200.000 you would not attack it would be the end of Cyprus as we know it, Turkey has at its diposal 1 million men. No one can be that stupid to think they can attack Turkey and win espeically not the little "RoC".

if gcs wont attack you now why would they attack you with a 70 million population army 75km north of here

security? this is not 30 years ago when there was so much violence. the troops are just as effective from 75km away then right here on our island.

you never know thats why we have to be positive and not spread hate and learn to live together. imo there is no need for the troops to be here. no real need.

But Palio, that is not what Muhtar X is asking for. He wants the guarantee to be removed so if the GCs attack, Turkey will have no right to defend the TCs. 99% of the TCs will not accept that. The Turkish army will go as soon as the peace agreement is signed.

and the chance of gcs trying to attack is... 0

and i hope it is soon we sign a deal we both accept .. but not like the bannana plan where they wanted some troops permanently on the island like turkey will probably try have in the deal

Sign the peace agreement and put in there, and see what you get next time you break it.

You show me where in the treaty of gaurantee does it give any country occupying power over Cyprus and the right to compromise its sovereignty for over 30 years you imbecile.

You are avoiding the question. The question has nothing to do with the coup. In the sixties there were 10000 greek soldiers in Cyprus. How?

Becuase if they go they cannot come back without an agreement between us allowing them to return which you people are against. You dont attack now becuase they are here and have the ability to bring in more troops if necessary, how would you feel if they went and innocent TCs started to dissapear or die due to lack of protection by GC soliders?

I have changed my position on this. A number of troops from Turkey, perhaps as many as a few thousand, ought to be detained on the island, on a trial basis. They will remain for up to 25 years in some cases.

A special facility will have to be built to contain them all but it'll look something like this:
