Turkish Cyprus pins property hopes on 'Rich arabs'
The ‘minister’ of economy and energy in northern Cyprus has said that property developers are now hoping rich Arabs will help save the collapsed property sector.
Sunat Atun has stated that wealthy Arabs might purchase villas in the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus.
Under the banner headline “Hope from the Gulf”, the Kibris refers to statements made by Sunat Atun regarding his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
He noted that their visits to the Gulf states will continue and that the volume of trade between the north and these states will increase this year.
The paper reports also that Ayse Donmezer, chairwoman of the Cyprus Turkish Investment Development Agency (YAGA), who was participating in the Turkish Cypriot delegation during to Oman, said that wealthy Arabs might purchase summerhouses in the occupied areas of Cyprus.
