Like you do, you mean?

I've seen CBBB and he looks exactly like his avatar.

Another anonymous Forum member heard from.
I agree with CBBB - come on you brave guys, let's see who you are, what your real name is and where you are. 8)

Vaughan,

How many of those kakking themselves on this thread would be brave enough to say who they were on this forum?

Eric,

I'd say that, facing possible legal action, most people would want to maintain a low profile, so "not many" would be my answer.
What's the excuse for being anonymous on this here forum, though? What have you guys got to hide? Wouldn't have anything to do with wanting to go North and then getting back out again in one piece?

Ms Williams

Most of the regular members on this forum have actually posted thier picture on here.

All you have to do is search a little.

Why dont you look the thread up and post yours also!!!

It is to be honest good to see you poting on this forum, as it proves that we are tolerant (well maybe thats not the right word) but shall we say are used to opposing views from members. Unlike the Cyprus44 forum which bans persons as soon as they show dissent towards the party line

If you've been a member of the other forum for a long time and kept up with the main posters, you can easily work it out for yourself who quite a few of them are.

They use the same catchphrases, insults etc. and they make the same typos.

Sorry Dick B,

Not computer savvy enough to do that. My avatar bears a striking resemblance though.
The difference between this forum and the 44 bb is that when you guys get on you rant and rave and swear like dockers, instead of sticking to your debate/argument. You're the same here but it's your forum and you do what you want. They just won't put up with your shit on 44. They do have a rule that you can't challenge the legality of the TRNC, a rule I don't necessarily agree with as it could stifle debate, but it's their board and if you want to play you have to abide.

Could stifle debate Vaughn? It DOES stifle debate. It is not only challenging the legality of the TRNC that is not allowed, it is any mild criticism whatsoever of anything to do with the TRNC. Or any individual or company operating over there, even if that company or individual has ripped off some of their own members.

It's a joke.

And they do allow bad language and childish nasty insults, as long as they are directed at members who the owner and moderator doesn't like very much.

I'm sure there are favourites on this forum who get away with murder, too.
Would you settle for both forums being as bad as each other, in their own ways?

Yep, I will settle for that. I doubt there are any 'discussion' forums on the net where the Cyprus Problem is discussed where some of the regular members do not lapse into just slagging each other off, insulting each other and each other's families and nationality and whatever. Be nice if it could be debated with both sides at least respecting the other side's right to their opinion.

I did used to think this was a very popular forum - the threads move fast. But, looking at it, and at the numbers who vote in any polls, it seems it is mainly a hard core of quite a low number of members who come on every day to argue with each other!

You can say that again. :D
It's a shame when folks have a dig at each other and the thread descends into a ruck instead of being debated to a conclusion.

Yes OK we do sometimes go over the top, but do bear a few things in mind.

Some members will have personally experience of "troubles" in the past, or have friends and reles who suffered. Most don't bring these emotions on to CF most of the time but sometimes the shield drops.

The other thing would say is that most of us have CY genes and a CY upbringing and the CY way of debating isn't the afternoon English Tea Party sort of way of discussing. Bleeding 'ell CY's even talk politics over the dinner table!!

Discussions of politics is also largely a male preserve, not by any measure exclusively; one where it's traditional to throw in a few expletives, to question the legitimacy of debaters' birth, the mother's promiscuity and profession, the father's mental state etc etc. It's all part of the CY culture. Debaters who are the closest of friends will often call each other everything under the Sun, guess it's a way of male bonding.

Really what am saying is that from an Anglo-Saxon perspective it can often look very different.

There said all that without any poor language, had my Englishmen's hat on. ......

Oh dear feel the troublesome CY genes kicking in ..... eesasteen olee pushties ..... je Fredoulla eese telia pesevenghees.
