Apple's New Baby - The iPad

Postby bill cobbett » Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:10 pm

Apple's new Ipad launched today, a sort of net-book with touch screen, with wifi, and inbuilt 3g connectivity on the more expensive model.

Dunno, must have a look at one in the Apple Store but not convinced about this.

looks good doesent it :)

you beat me to it this time hehe last time with the 3gs

www.apple.com/ipad

for more specs and info like price i think thats the american site though .com maybe .com/uk/ipad for the uk one

but whats your thoughts? it looks pretty good to me like a mini laptop you can attach a keyboard it comes with 1GHz of processing power up to 64GB of space and it has a huge pad so you can type easily and use the net and watch videos with ease. it could easily replace the pc or laptop if your not a heavy user.. i am impressed i might get one :)

Had a look at it in the link above. Interesting, but really would want to look at it for real in a shop.

Pricewise, you can get a MacBook for 7-800GBP and a MacBook pro for 12-1300GBP and you can tether them for Internet over 3g with an iPhone.

but the thing is the iphone is a tiny screen and the ipad has a big screen making it easier to type and use the internet and you can even have the keyboard attached easier to carry around and has everything you need..

Yes, they must have a jailbreak, agreed.

As to the iphone's tiny screen. Well almost all my postings to CF have been done on an iPhone in recent months. So don't have a problem with the small "keyboard" but then again have slim fingers. Would be a problem for those with big Neanderthal Paphian digits ...lol.

Dom't jave a priblem, honest.

What really helps typing on an iPhone is the landscape mode which gives a little more room between letters. Can almost touch-type on it.

Looks useless in my IMO. I will wait a couple of more months until they crack this one aswell to see it's real potential.

As for typing on the iphone. Hm at first it needs some getting use to it, but after than oh my it's way better than a qwerty keyboard. Way faster to type. And I did have a qwerty keyboard and it's a pain in the ass. Very annoying
