All I am really trying to say is do not assume that statements made in the run up to and during the 2002-2003 rebellion provide an accurate reflection of sentiment in the Turkish Cypriot community nowadays.

yeah but closure of the gates this sentiment will hurry back...IMHO

PS...not that I am endorsing such a move...
