My grandfathers (who was born in Ay. Theodoros) sister would visit us in Anglissidhes and they always spoke in Greek. They must have been closer as all my contemporary cousins spoke fluent Greek. Do you remember Ali Dede?

Sure I do,Deniz...
My grandparents and parents spoke fluent Greek too...But by the time EOKA-scare started, and the TMT kicked in,there was no longer close cooperation between the communities..I remember my grandfather in Istinco had trouble finding labourers for his fields...Up till mid 50s all his workers were GCs from the nearby villages...My mother learnt Greek playing with the children of these workers in the fields...The EOKA and the TMT and the British have a lot to answer for... :( :(

Don't blame EOKA for this. Division and separation had been a British/Turkish invention created to serve the aims of these Imperialists. We had absolutely nothing to gain from separation and conflict with your community. If they brainwashed you about "evil" EOKA and GCs to force you to be separate you should blame the British and the Turkish leadership, not EOKA and the GCs.

The funny thing is that they continue doing the same thing to you today, and you continue to swallow their propaganda about "evil" GCs. Of course you don't do this because you are stupid and you can't understand the truth, you do it because you don't want to understand the truth, since it suits you just fine cooperating with Turkey to screw the GCs so you and Turkey can have gains on our expense.

You are so predictable,Piratis...

I am still waiting for you you to tell me and tens of thousands of TCs who left Cyprus before 1974 what exactly we have gained on your loss...You still have 63% of your country,we have nothing...

BirKibrisli, you once told us that you left Cyprus to avoid serving in the Army. Others left purely for economic reasons. I hope you are not going to, once again, start insinuating they left for "grave fear" of GCs? ... not whilst Turkey was the one who actually bombed and Napalmed GC villages to make sure it wasn't just imaginary fear they suffered but a taste of things to come.....

right said........Bir.

Up to 1963, we were ok, in spite of the presence of EOKA. (Our dear cousins). They fought the Brits though. After Independence they were paid off and sent to the UK or Australia.

I didn't have much choice in leaving Cyprus,Oracle...My father didn't want me to get involved with the bloody conflict,as he rightly guessed, the worst was still to come...And why do you think the economic situation was so bad for the TCs??? Come on you can do it...repeat after me...Because the TCs were disposessed of their rights in the government and forced into enclaves to fend for themselves..There...doesn't that feel much better... :)

No my dear since at least the same proportion of GCs left for parallel reasons to those of the TCs.

But still, you have the gal to admit you left for personal reasons (many do not want to do military service) and yet invent excuses for all the other TCs as having left for more "honorable" reasons such as hardship caused by GCs.

You really are hard to believe ....

You were promised gains. And you are still being promised gains. This is why you collaborate with foreign Imperialists. But you are never going to enjoy any gains because we are no fools to accept racist discriminations against us and let you enjoy Ottoman style privileges on our expense.

What wit, what knowledge, what would the TCs do without you and your wisdom?

Actually, I'm trying to point out that retreating into 20th century dogma is not going to do anything but inflame things.
