The Cypriot flag is a beautiful symbol of peace and unity.

Malapapa do appreciate that to some of us, it has been the symbol of oppression. It was that that was flying on the pole when we were suffering. People do not lose association like that. It may have to change. You are welcome to take it up as the groc but the northerners will also be able to select theirs.

My view is that, to prevent "egg stain" or "soiled nappy" criticisms, when Cyprus is reunified, the golden island should be made a few shades darker, more copper in colour, reflecting the name of Cyprus. Also the island and olive branches should feature more prominently on the flag... thus:
