When HSBC was asked to close this branch down its reaction after weighing its business interests in Turkey and those in Cyprus was to close the Cyprus Private banking branch down instead. It later offloaded all its shares in Laiki Bank (20%) to Marfin.

Thats how much HSBC values doing business with Cyprus

Then, perhaps HSBC might now prefer conducting some business in the relevant courts. An initial warning shot is certainly in order; a high profile scalp worth securing ASAP.

HSBC, as we speak is shaking in its boots.

I expect that's what some were flippantly saying about the Orams, when proceedings first started.

No, I agree. It's just business; nothing personal.

A flippant assumption deserves a flippant response.

Reminds me of AKELs block voting for Enosis.

My assumption may have been presumptive (justifiably in my view given the circumstance) but it was in no way flippant.

Warning MP do you know you can get CF sued for sending these emails on their behalf. Its the same syndrom of we represent everyone on CF, well just like Cyprus you do not, Admin would do well to take heed of this action and nip it in the bud while they can as it is liable if Mala signs off CF members.
