We know who the "others" are I think. The occupying authorities in the north overplayed their hand. They thought after the Annan referendum that they were on a roll and the diplomatic tide was turning in their favour. This was a political case from the outset to use the EU courts to legalise the confiscation of property and pressure the ROC into accepting a solution on Turkish terms.
It is no coincidence they turned to Cherie Blair to defend the Orams. This entire case was backed by Turkey to pacify the Greek Cypriots. They miscalculated. For one, the EU and British courts are independent. Two, the Greek Cypriot case was valid.
Once Turkey made an issue of defending the Orams they charged into the legal process without seeing the possibility or the consequences of failure. They believed their own propaganda that the "facts on the ground" are all that matter now. They really did believe that Mr. Apostolides and all the dispossessed had no valid legal rights in the north and that the British and EU courts were bound to find in Turkey's favour.
They have been disabused of that illusion. Turkey and Talat went for it big time - like a drunken over-confident gambler - and lost everything.
Thank God for the British legal system, Justice Pill and the EU courts. They came through for us in the end ...
