The Perfect Cyprus Wedding ....

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I married a 3rd Generation heavily Aussiefied Cypriot Girl- her Great great granddad came here(in OZ) before WW1 and moved to Country town where he was the only Cypriot or Greek for hundreds of Kilometers. When we got married her 2nd gen mum (married to a fresh Kyrenian like me) gave her $200 as a deposit on a washing machine- my relatives who are still pretty fresh off the banana boat told me what the F!#$ !!!! you would have received a fully furnished apartment and maybe even a car if you got married in Cyprus. I replied a dowry is not free its conditional on a lifetime of upkeep of some delusional high maintenance princess and putting up with obnoxious in-laws. Nothing in life is free. The average house in Sydney is close to $AUD 700,000 these days.It is a small price to pay for a lifetime of freedom.

And I was a little surprised to find out that some newly weds treat it in a very business-like fashion and actually keep an account record book of who gave how much! If they hadn't stumped up a decent amount, they were accused of only coming for the food and drink and eating and drinking more money's worth than they gave as a gift. lol!

i have been to weddings to just eat then leave and when i shake the brides hand and tell them na zisete they look at me like who the h is that lol

Hahah i have so done that with lots of friends in paliometoxo. We just go in from the backdoor. No need for a greeting

Mine would be a traditional cypriot wedding where we have the close relatives come during the day and then onto the church and then to a restorant/hotel maybe 4 seasons or somewhere high class. and then after that hire a ferrari and go to a presidentual suite somewhere like hawaii or somewhere exotic. :D

1st class all the way..

You could always spend your holiday in Girne I believe a suite in the castle would be more than adequate for your needs.
