A constitutional convention...?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

A constitutional convention...?

Postby Expatkiwi » Sun Jan 24, 2010 12:27 am

I have been reading a number of posts that have stated that a number of GC's here do know a lot of TC's living in the TRNC who support unification of Cyprus. If this is true, then perhaps it can be shown to both sides by way of forming a national convention of elected or appointed delgates (from both sides) who will meet in order to work out a new constitution. In short, a constitution created by all Cypriots for all Cypriots. With the input of both major sides (plus the other communities), perhaps an equitable document can be worked out which would then be put to the leaders of RoCy and TRNC. After all, both Christofas and Talat claim to be speaking for the people, so perhaps the people should take the lead this time in order to bridge the gap... that is, if opposition to partition up north is as true as what has been stated here...
