Thanks for posting the video item Bill, as well as all your excellent coverage from the High Court.

These are indeed offered here as weapons (in English) against the constant flow of propaganda which Turkey's PR machine continues to put out.

There are quite a few video items on the Apostolides v. Orams case on that profile, for those who do wish to augment reading the hundreds of postings on Cyprus Forum, and press reports, on the matter by taking a look at the coverage from Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation.

There is also the seminar, in English, from June 2009, organised by the Lobby for Cyprus, entitled "Apostolides v Orams case - ECJ Decision Explained" attended by Meletis Apostolides and Costantis Candounas attended by many members of the legal team.

The embed facility does not seem to work while I prepare this message, so the links are provided below as URLs.

The Association for Cypriot Greek and Turkish Affairs had also organised a talk in English by Costantis Candounas, about the ECJ decision, in March 2009 which is also available as a video online at:

In that Costantis Candounas has always acknowledged the significance of the pioneering work by Achilleas Demetriades initiating the legal approach to property issues in Turkish occupied 'northern' Cyprus with the Titina Loizidou case at the ECHR, the two links below are to a seminar on the matter in 2007 (also in English)

Of course we all now eagerly await judgement of the ECHR following the November 2009 hearing, in which Achilleas Demetriades was involved:

Eponymos studio discussion - Apostolides v. Orams

Postby grokked » Sun Jan 24, 2010 1:53 am

Have added the following video playlist online - the discussion (in Greek) by RIK/CyBC

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... 2F0D2F6F3A

Discussion in Greek chaired by Emilia Kenevezou on 19th January 2010, from the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, about the significance of the judgement in favour of Meletis Apostolides, represented by Costantis Candounas, against David and Linda Orams by the British Appeals Court. The case had been defended by Cherie Booth Blair and had been the subject of appeal to the European Court of Justice which had ruled in favour of Meletis Apostolides. Discussants: Kypros Chrysostomides, Andreas Angelides, Achilleas Demetriades, Christos Clerides.

The item is also available from the archive of Eponymos programs on the RIK/CyBC website at:
