Funds were raised for flood disaster victims during a live television program on BRT’s first channel last night. The program was broadcast in support of the aid campaign `We are With You, Guzelyurt` which was launched under the auspices of Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu’s wife Meral Eroglu and is being coordinated by
Bayrak Radio Television Corporation.
A total of [b]367, 500 Turkish Liras were collected during the program.[/b]
Another special program will be on air as from 2 o’clock this afternoon to raise donations for flood victims.
Bayrak Radio Television Corporation has become the centre of efforts to raise funds for flood victims in the Guzelyurt region.
Last night, donations were collected during a special television program on the first channel of BRT.
Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu’s wife Meral Eroglu and Guzelyurt Mayor Mahmut Ozcinar were among the guests attending the program which was on air between 8pm and 12-midnight.
Speaking at the beginning of the program, Mr Ozcinar assured that all donations to be received will be distributed to the victims of the disaster.

Yesterday, First Lady Oya Talat – who chairs the Cyprus Turkish Women’s Solidarity Council – together with representatives of 6 other women’s organizations visited the areas which were badly hit by the flood disaster in the Guzelyurt Region.
Members of the delegation headed by the First Lady visited Mayor Mahmut Ozcinar who briefed them about the latest situation in the Region.
Speaking on behalf of the women’s organizations, Mrs Talat said `we share the grief of the residence in Guzelyurt and we are ready to give a helping hand to them`.
Meanwhile, the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce has sent another consignment of relief aid to the Guzelyurt Region. The consignment contains refrigerators, washing machines, pillows, mattresses and duvet covers.
Turkey’s Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has also joined in the efforts to heal the wounds of flood victims by sending a truck full of relief aid.
Representatives of several non-governmental organizations were also among the guests visiting the region to extend a helping hand to the victim.
