The renowned Turkish Cypriot journalist Hasan Hastürer writes that he has travelled to the south to try to locate this so-called Astromerit Dam for himself and says:

Bu arada Astromerit Barajı diye bir barajın olmadığını da öğrendik.

Meanwhile we learnt that there is no such dam called the Astromerit Dam.

Well known but hardly renowned.

Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu visited the Guzelyurt area yesterday to investigate the latest conditions and to organize the aid campaigns to be extended by the government and the private sector.

Mr. Eroglu also held an evaluation meeting in Guzelyurt with the participation of some Ministers, Guzelyurt’s District officer and the Guzelyurt Mayor.

Following the meeting, Mr. Eroglu accompanied by ministers and local administrators held inspections at Guzelyurt Market where he also chatted with the shop owners about their damages.

He also visited the Bostanci and Guzelyurt closed Sports stadium to see the aid materials that are being distributed to the public.

Speaking at a press conference after completing his evaluations of the area, the Prime Minister said the government would do everything that it can to help those affected by the flood. He also announced that they had finished summing up the cost of the repair work that would be needed and said according to their findings 560 work places and houses and 290 cars were damaged in the floods.

Meanwhile the Social Services Department today carried out an aid campaign at the Guzelyurt Ataturk Sports Stadium. People were able to make donations at the sports stadium.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare as of tomorrow all the donations made for the flood victims will be handed out in an orderly fashion.

The Turkish Red Crescent is also lending a helping hand to the victims of the Guzelyurt and Bostanci area.

Tomorrow two semi trailers loaded with blankets and food will be leaving the Girne harbor for the Guzelyurt area.

The semi trailers contain 2 thousand blankets and 500 packages of food, for the flood victims. This is only the first stage of the help that is being given to the flood victims by the Turkish Red Crescent.

...cypriots have seen this before.

some poor Turkish Cypriots will be sacrificed by the TMT so that an accusation can be made.

the truth will eventually be revealed but the worst will already have been done.

...then the denials will begin;

i can imagine it because it has happened many times before...
