HUCKING FELL,

Poor Pinky.

My initial reaction to the Orams case was that the prime culprit was the TC who sold the property, aided and abetted by the northern admin who myopically allowed all these transactions to go through (and encouraged).

The Orams were sued, because they could be sued and that was the only way the legal owners could get recompense.

I am pleased for the owners, but the original seller and the northern admin are the guiltier ones. IMHO.

i agree Deniz, but if you see the some of the English talk on the other forums they tell you they know about the situation and don't care and say greedy Cypriots this and that and still go and buy it. When you go to an illegal state run by Mafia and 40k army troops its only sensible thing to do is be very careful when buying instead of just looking at the cheap price and nothing else

I agree with you in turn. Its only today that I found out her admission to knowing of the risks. All I said was there are others to blame too.

Baby i dont agree with you to br honest but again who am i to judge your post..

hey and i dont agree with the whole story, it should never have happened.
what dont you agree with?
the fact i said i didnt totaly realise the orams knew there was a risk? (whats wrong with that)
or was it the fact i said i didnt agree with the turks doing what they did in 1974 (gee thats a decent thing to say is it not)
or was it the fact i didnt do my research first (this isnt school its a forum)
or maybe its the fact that its a touchy subject?
its not really about judging but having a view so good on you.
one question though if i may go back and make a comment on your post regarding this thread....Is it only the English who are IGNORANT and FOOLISH enough to go to the north and buy land?

Deniz, the handling of stolen goods is a high crime than the stealing itself. If there was no demand, and all that. Crooks who do the stealing normally get away with it, its the buyer that gets done, que to Orams.

Palio I agree with you. Most buyers DID know the risks. It is only now it is looking likely they will lose out they are feigning ignorance and innocence.

Interesting to read the Google cached pages of some of the Northern Forums - the same ones feigning this ignorance now were, as long as 3 yrs ago, arguing with developers like Medview and stating on the open forums:

Buying a property in TRNC is already risky as it is. Property developers must do all they can to reduce further risks and reassure customers that their investments are secure.

When stuff like that is posted on forums dedicated to particular large developments, it is obvious EVERY owner knows the risks. None of them came back at that time saying 'What risk?' or 'What do you mean?' Of course they knew!

This particular guy's complaint was referred to the great Ali Safa himself who responded more or less saying he was an ingrate and could have back what he paid for the property if he wasn't happy and the next thing you know he will be being blamed for the sun not shining. Very professional.

Well, it does not help when the trnc does all they can to help them and promise them money or that they will be safe, because we have now proven that they are not safe and the uk will be able to enforce the rules otherwise turkey just ignoring it wont help either them or the people who paid for the land.

turkey is more to blame then the foreigners who chose to ignore that the land is stolen for whatever reasons they do for trying to encourage this and sell our property so they dont have to give it back, their little games not working of trying to use the english for their own gains
