sweet I thought the local one was in down town Nicosia .. 2km is ok so I will reach full 8mbit even.

Do you know they they use fibre lines or copper or what they use for the adsl?

normal copper lines. No optical fibres yet in that area. Maybe after 8 years

i thought so.. i was thinking they have the dirty old copper lines. even in England they use copper on the adsl..

trust me thats not the problem. They have to increase the bandwidth of their BACKBONE. Cyprus needs more bandwidth and more connections towards other european countries. The local network is just fine.

with cytanet i can get 4 and other adsl 8 but i am not sure if they will provide it in paliometoxo, and while other countries have 100mbit connections and faster we barely have 10 for 69 euros a month! and the 4mbit on cytanet its 50 euros a month? :S for that in some places i have 100mbit i think in Sweden it is 40 Euro s for 100 in some places

wavespeed look ok they have 4mbit for 30 euros. which for cyprus is good

depends what connection you like in cyprus: the ones that you can download more are shit when it comes to gaming, the ping is really bad and the packet loss pretty high. The ones that have a really good ping have a really bad congestion rate you cant download much you get capped all the time
