ECHO OF MOSCOW, the biggest and most respected radio station in Russia with right activists constantly in the air, high officials and even presidents interviewed in their studio on daily basis. Millions of listeners from the heart of Siberia to Australia.

But what shocks me the most is the constant advertising, 6 times a day... EVERGREEN PROPERTIES in the occupied areas.

I will not translate this word to word but it goes like this:

"Evergreen properties in North Cyprus offers you unbeatable prices in our newly built complex near the sea called APHRODITE" ha ha haaaa.... not ATATURK..but APHRODITE, Greek Godess...how pathetic :D

Anyway, then it goes "The complex is built on internationally recognized land with the status - TURKISH PRE-1974"
Then they describe how perfect the complex is: saunas, massage, pools, jacuzzis, golf etc... We should open a petition or a group on Facebook in order to draw Station's attention and drop the crooks.

I wish just one Brit buyer of a property on disputed land there would come out and admit they bought because it was so CHEAP. Even if they were too stupid to wonder WHY.

Instead of all this feigned allegiance to the TRNC that they spout whenever disputed property is discussed.

Before the Orams case was so much in the spotlight they never stopped moaning about the facilities over there, the water shortages, power cuts, lack of choice in the shops, TC neighbours keeping all sorts of animals on their property and slaughtering them on their patios on holy days, goats eating their gardens, litter, stray dogs, dirty beaches and the lack of anything much to do socially there.

Most who own there don't live there permanently - they just visit and let their properties out to holidaymakers. There are lots of forums where Brit owners post desperately asking for anyone who is there to go check and see if their property is OK etc.

And if they did feel any allegiance to the TRNC they'd all fly to Ercan to get there, instead of LCA to save money. They'd stop crossing over to buy their shopping in the South and their furniture at IKEA - and they'd be declaring the rental income they make to the TRNC and paying tax on it.

As for what Frank said - 'The dispute between the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities over property, can only be resolved by a political solution' - rubbish in my view. What has one man stealing and making money out of another man's property got to do with POLITICIANS?

I've no idea what might happen now re the Orams complying - I see the judgement as simply and clearly stating that what they have been doing regarding this GC owned land and property was WRONG. Even Cherie BLiar, acknowledged as the UK foremost expert for this type of case could not make it seem RIGHT.

As a first step I would like to see some action taken to ensure that BRITISH estate agents and developers immediately cease selling such property in the TRNC. Or, at the very least, to put a clear bold warning on their websites and documentation of exactly what the risks are, how it has been deemed to be illegal or whatever. As some reputable ones have always done.

For "officials" now read "outlaws". As proved by the highest courts in Europe and the UK.
