Careful, you'll get Miltiades on his high horse, again!

The death of a human that had opposing ideas to yours is not an event of rejoicing. David has a family that is grieving for their loss ,
May he rest in peace.

So do the 5000 GCs who were brutaly murdered and the 1676 missing and all he had to say about us, that we were terrorists. If thats his opposing view well, it too late now.

Pafiti, the 'Thought' should have read 'though' But I understand you like to make mountains from mole hills

Thanks for the clarification...

You said I will be the only to miss the late David Carter as if to insinuate something entirely different. Are you making mountains out of mole hills?

What are you insinuating?

I don't see anyone rejoicing, Miltiades. But, if it's a eulogy you want then all I can say is everyone dies, there's nothing special in that. He was an elderly man. I wish everyone could live to at least his age. I'm sure he went to his deathbed content and pleased at what he'd done.

But, I thank him for giving us the chance to tell him what we thought of his irksome behaviour, in life. Perhaps he harboured some regrets, towards the end, and came here for catharsis, a confessional, to limit the damage he caused to his chances of eternal life in the hereafter.

So, we forgive you Mr. Carter for, in your own tenacious way, managing to mass publicise our freedom fighters as terrorists, for brandishing a bunch of lies (one of which he was obliged to correct, so, ta very much, well timed) on his website; for liaising with Denktash/Turkish army etc to raise funds to build a "Memorial" against the wishes of our government and those of his own.

His family may know another man, but that was the man we knew ....

Pretty, pretty, pretty good!

My grandfather died when he was 97 and thats by an injury he slipped and broke his hip. Anyhow 97 years still standing able to walk a km per day for church and he said the secret to his success was "Always drink a glass of wine per day". His last advice in bed aftter saying goodbye to all his children then turn his head the other way and off he goes. Honorable death!

I think he was known as David Matthews in his days as a BBC producer. It was only three months ago he got me booted off an NC forum for calling him "Denktas Dave". Still, he stuck to his guns, misguided though he was, and was generally civil when we crossed swords. All sympathy to David's family.

Here is a photo of David Carter with the chief of the occupation forces in Cyprus taken in mid eighties. I had a couple of more of him with Denktash and in the ghost town of Famagusta but I cannot find them right now. If I do find them I will post them.

You seem to take the death and missing GCs so lightly, perhaps you can tell us how hilarious you find the death of TCs and Turks and english.
