How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Ate re Nikita bareta mas...

I would say Greece has a duty to get involved in order to correct past wrongs, but unfortunately, Greece does not seem to know the meaning of duty, responsibility, or honour!

I blame their relatively newly acquired indoctrination to an institution which preaches a false and selfish Philosophy which has bought about a pandemic of mental illness, loss of self respect, honour, and courage.

What game would that be?

If you are in desperate need for some mothering, then look elsewhere because your faith seems misplaced.

Paphitis ... those were the games GR! was playing during a slow period in our politics.

Focus, now, on what matters ...

Quite frankly, Greece's international presence is compromised with Turkey fulfilling every objective with ease.

One day you will realize that nothing will be achieved, unless Greece behaves like a country which can up the ante in the Aegean and also take charge of it's obligations over Cyprus, because it appears to me that Turkey has long term strategic objectives which involve the complete annexation of Cyprus. If you can't see this then I don't know what else to say.

Boulio asked:

"I have read about this nikitas as well there was a agreement between Dekleris and a turkish lawyer on july 13,th 1974 two days before the junta action in cyprus,do you have any info on the agreement?"

Dekleris gave an interview on Greek Tv in which he described a party to celebrate the conclusion of the agreement. He graphically described how Clerides and Denktash indulged in an "orgy of wine consumption" to let off steam after such a long and hard negotiation. If memory serves, he gave the timing of this meeting at asome time in 1973 but not July. I seem to recall him saying it was springtime, and he said the party took place at a village, but he did not say which one.

As for the right of Greece to be involved in the talks, it is obvious that if there is going to be renewal of the guarantor status, it has a right to know what it will take on as guarantor and not for the sake of Cypriots.

Cyprus is no longer anywhere near the front page of Greek news. The Orams case was NOT reported on Greek TV, while it was reported on BBC and CNN. Greece counts itself lucky to be rid of the Cyprus problem, and its only use now is to turn the screws on Turkey over EU membership, but not for the benefit of Cyprus, it is for the benefit of Greece in the Aegean. Those who harp on about Enosis are living in a time warp.

Oracle is right. Greece fought hard to get Cyprus into the EU. That has been a strategic success. As for the legal experts, they are to ensure that any potential solution fulfills UN and EU criteria. They give us an extra barrier of protection against any attempts by Turkey to get around the EU legal criteria for a solution. The more lawyers the better. Lawyers are good...

Why not cut out the middle-man and ask UN and EU if the solution fulfills the criteria?
I thought this was supposed to be a "Cypriot solution, for Cypriots, by Cypriots" (and Greeks?) :?:

Talat forgot to copy paste his document the other day and gave it with the Turkish republic letterhead instead of his own. Thats how much this is a cypriot solution.
