Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Dervis Eroglu, said Tuesday directing flood waters from the Greek Cypriot side to the TRNC's regions of settlements was an inhuman behaviour.

Prime Minister Eroglu and an accompanying delegation of ministers visited the Guzelyurt region and observed the disaster caused by the flood waters that came from the Greek Cypriot administration side.

Speaking live on the Bayrak Television (BRT), Eroglu said that the TRNC faced a great disaster.

We are working to alleviate the pain of our people and to minimize the damage, Eroglu said.

Unfortunately, many homes were filled with mud and water. Many people do not have a place to sleep in, Eroglu said.

A committee is working to determine the amount of damage that was made by flood waters. A meeting to assess the situation will take place in Lefkosa in the afternoon, Eroglu said.

There is a great amount of damage that was made by flood waters in Guzelyurt. Humans in the region are in a state of panic, Eroglu said.

I thank our troops and other personnel for their efforts to help those affected by flood waters, Eroglu also said.

Directing flood waters???

Now they are going to accuse us for the rain as well??

Bear in mind we tried 100s of times to convince the Tcs to make a dam for the waters of karkotis river ending up in the sea every year. They never accepted....

Thank God its 3 months now the RoC took the decision to construct a dam in Solia valey. This way the TCs they will never accuse us for the rain and floods again  Of course they will also have to kiss goodbye the waters of Karkotis river as well.

I suppose so, but I don't exactly have a monopoly on that.... certainly not in this forum, Mr. Tim Drayton. now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to Hogwarts.

Turkish Cypriot columnist Tümay Tuğyan has addressed Eroğlu’s claim that the Greek Cypriots deliberately opened the floodgates of a dam so that the water would pour down onto Morphou, basically challenging him to back up his claim with a single shred of hard evidence.

There will be plenty more where that came from. Don't expect Eroglu to play by the Queensberry rules, what?

I do not expect that. However, I do not think that they can get away with this sort of crude, blatantly false propaganda nowadays, thank goodness. Good to see you back here, by the way, old fruit.
