Well, I think the reason of existence of this forum is to improve the dialogue and therefore mutual understanding between the forum members,TC and GC. With this poll, people can get an idea to see if they are actually serving this aim or not.

MicAtCyp, I think this poll is an experiential way to visualise what the future of a re-united Cyprus would be like. Perhaps we need such an experiential approach, because "just talking" about a solution gets tiring after a certain point.

This poll reminds me a little of that TV show on RIK 2, "Merhaba" which portrays life in a mixed GC-TC village after re-unification.

By the way, detailer, I think you should also do mixed polls, in which GCs and TCs TOGETHER vote for the most constructive GC, and then GCs and TCs TOGETHER vote for the most constructive TC. That's the truest spirit of cross-voting. And since in this forum there is an equal number of GCs and TCs who tend to vote in polls, the result should be interesting.

Perhaps you can use these current polls as "primaries", and then only include in the second series of polls those who got at least one vote in this poll. This way there will be less options, and therefore more dramatic results.

Yes, after the results of this one is clear, that would be a decent idea :)

Actually, the results of the most constructive TC a bit amazed me. This is because my favorite TC member in this forum is Turkcyp as well yet my opinions are not the ones most appreciated by GC. This is an interesting irony.

as far as I know your parent is cypriot. Isn't it?

actually alexandros has proposed very good solutoins that have been rejected by many TCs (check out the last forum).

also because a parent is cypriot that doesnt make ME cypriot. i have no cypriot papers and i dont consider myself cypriot. i just get darker than most in the summer :)

I don't exactly agree whatever he proposes either but I think that he is doing very well in empathising with TC and at least considers the TC worries in his proposals; the best a GC can do for TC.

Allright, I won't consider you as a GC anymore. :)

Hmm ... I have thought about it some more, and I ... disagree with myself!

The way to do it, is to have another set of polls, where GCs vote for the more constructive GC, and TCs vote for the most constructive TC. We include exactly the same names as in this poll, and then, when we have the second set of results, we combine the two to see which GC and which TC are most acceptable overall, from a cross-voting perspective.

This may sound like a petty and irrelevant exercise, but in fact it is very important. After all, what we are voting for is not really persons (we don't even know each other's real names) but for negotiating styles and problem-solving mentalities. It will then be very interesting to see if we can trust the winning GC mentality and the winning TC mentality to form together a team which would lead the re-united Cyprus and work together to solve the country's problems through consensus.
