«Το Κυπριακό Δικαστήριο δεν μπορεί να εκτελέσει κανονικά, είναι η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία που πρέπει να εκτελέσει» ανέφερε ο Πρόεδρος Χριστόφιας σημειώνοντας πως «ούτε και η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία δυστυχώς ασκεί την κυριαρχία που μπορεί και πρέπει νόμιμα να ασκεί στο έδαφος της κατεχόμενης Κύπρου».

Πρόσθεσε ότι «η απόφαση αυτή η οποία ουσιαστικά επικυρώνει δηλαδή την απόφαση του δικού μας του δικαστηρίου έχει σημαντική νομική αλλά και πολιτική σημασία. Νομική γιατί το αγγλικό δικαστήριο συμπεριφέρθηκε με βάση τους νόμους και τους κανόνες της ΕΕ και της σύμβασης για τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης και του δικαστηρίου ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων και πολιτική γιατί δίνει και απάντηση στην πλευρά η οποία θέλει να αρνηθεί το δικαίωμα στην ιδιοκτησία ή στη χρήση της ιδιοκτησίας» είπε.

Ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας δεν θέλησε να πει πολλά πράγματα για την απόφαση αφού όπως είπε δεν την έχει δει ακόμα και πρόσθεσε πως «θα γίνουν περισσότερες αναλύσεις. Από πολιτικής σκοπιάς εμείς κρατάμε αυτή την απόφαση και θα την αξιοποιήσουμε δεόντως» σημείωσε.

Απευθυνόμενος στους δημοσιογράφους ο Πρόεδρος είπε πως «σας κάνω το χατίρι να κάνω ένα πρώτο σχόλιο. Αμα μπούμε σε λεπτομέρειες νομίζω δεν θα ήταν από δικής μου πλευράς και τόσο υπεύθυνο» κατέληξε.

The Court victory was not over our T/C compatriots , it was a victory for justice and it should be celebrated as such.
The British cheapskates have received a very clear message .
If any one still doubts the benefits of Cyprus's European membership then the clearly they don't know what they are talking about .
I'm pleased that I was able to attend and also meet Gerry and Bill as well as Mr and Mrs Apostolides and Mr Kandounas.
Remember folks , this is NOT a victory against out compatriots the T/Cs , it is however a massive defeat of the CHEAPSKATES and those acting illegally.

It's a human thing, a shame thing, something that if one wishes they can dismantle the hypocritical veil and see the bodies and suffering they too have left behind.

You lament your troubles, and I understand them as we too have been through them, but you give us zero consideration. That is what is wrong, that is what disturbs me, and really if you were true to yourselves it would disturb you too.

What disturbes me is that you first sell our properties....the ones that bought the property lose a court case....and then you come crying that we give you zero consideration?
