Now they've lost all that money, how will Mrs Piggy afford all those expensive hairdos in Turkey's colours?

Comments from Lord Justice Pill:

"The perception of the reasonable and informed observer would be, as is my perception, that there was no real possibility that the President (of the ECJ) would be influenced by the honour he received or by his other contacts. The judgment of the court is in no way tarnished by those contacts, considered either individually or cumulatively."

Lord Justice Pill made it clear at the beginning of his judgment that nothing in the ruling could be taken to indicate "an acceptance of or a comment upon the legitimacy of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus".

He said he accepted there was an international consensus that every encouragement should be given to achieving a peaceful settlement of the long-standing disputes in Cyprus.

"To proceed from that acceptance to accepting a proposition that United Kingdom courts should treat it as manifestly contrary to public policy in the United Kingdom to enforce the obligation under Community law to register judgments of courts in Cyprus is a very large step."

well obviously the turks will ignore it as they do everything else we know this
but if the English couple do not listen the uk court will give them their property in the uk they will pay and by the sounds of their statement at the end where they will order the demolish of the property they will do it.. its just a Question of what the turks will do with it after the couple is gone..

my guess is another turkish settlers family will move in.

It's more about getting justice from people who think its okay to buy stolen property and get away with it..

also a lot of other cases now may force the others who have bought stolen property to move. Turkey thought they where cleaver and could sell off gcs houses and get away with it but now they will see it will make them lose a whole lot instead of gain.

But your right in the sense that even if we kick out the people who bought the stolen land turkey wont be willing to let the gcs move back and that turkey will just give it to other turks. but its the principle. eventually we will take our land back in the north and remove the walls

Don't be obtuse. If they don't pay the refugee compensation and don't comply with the court ruling to demolish the house built on his land there will be an enforcement order entitling authorities to seize their assets in the UK, including their home in Hove.

VP , the Royal Courts of justice have upheld the EC judgement as given in April 2009.
The ruling will be enforced on the assets of the Orams in the UK. Can you see any Brits rushing to "purchase" G/C land !!!

This part is contained in the judgement , you may find it interesting.
Appendix 50:
The independence , territorial integrity and security of the Republic of Cyprus was recognized and indeed guaranteed by the United Kingdom in the Treaty of Guarantee of 1960. Moreover , by a succession of Security Council Resolutions, consistently reaffirmed , all states are called upon "to respect the sovereignty, independence , territorial integrity and non-alignement of the Republic of Cyprus " (Resolution 541 of 18 November 1983)

International law and more importantly European law can not be ignored by Turkey , neither can Turkey dismiss today,s judgement .
