Here is a take from the Turkish press plus interesting comments, one by the AGA action group!

I encourage all foreigners who purchased land illegally in the north of Cyprus to sue Turkey, the "TRNC", its politicians, officials and its property developers. I need a good laugh. You should fight for justice and compensation. The more, the merrier.

You should have been protected against your own greed and venality. I bet you thought the "TRNC" was untouchable. No laws applied there. It was, after all, a Thieves' Paradise. So go ahead and sue Turkey. The receiver of stolen property suing the burglar for leading him astray. This is what the "TRNC" has come to. The pirate state disappearing up its own illegal backside. Good riddance...

So far we were hearing no TC wants to return.
Now all of a sudden every TC wants his OWN properties back.
What will we hear next? :wink:

You TC guys go grap Talat from the neck. Tell him to get the best agreement he can before April. I am sorry to say, but TRashNcan is over.

The EC Judgement , fully endorsed by the British Royal Court Of Justice today re enforces the right of a citizen to his legal property as determined by the law and not by a corrupt " administration " acting solely for the benefits of those involved in its crooked operations. The vast majority of the T/Cs are opposed to the sale of G/C properties in the north , they , just as we do , believe in justice and fairness for all citizens.
Let us hope that today's outcome will enrich the stamina of those engaged in talks leading to a permanent and just solution.
Turkey has been sent a clear message by the International judiciary , the message is that her continued occupation of a part of Cyprus does not in any way confer legality to its actions and that the property of those displaced does not belong to her to do as she pleases.

This is what the Orams now have to do .....

terminate the trespass on their behalf over the land belonging to Apostolides;
Deliver up possession of the land to Apostolides;
Pay ‘mesne profits’ (i.e., rent) to  Apostolides in respect of the period of their occupation of his land;
Bring down the villa built on Apostolides land; and
Pay certain sums towards Apostolides’s costs of the proceedings, including the English and ECJ proceedings.

Of course the final act that the Orams need to pursue is the suing of Turkey and its administration in the north for selling them land that they stole from Apostolides.

This opens up so many possibilities. People will be suing and countersuing all over the place.
