From the grouping 51-60 why did you remove the first part of the decade Halil when cetinkaya was playing in the CFA league?

 Even Chetinkaya becomes a victim of partition

Did not some Turkish Cypriot footballers also play in Greek Cypriot teams. Wasnt Defterali one of these?

Eren Defterali?

There were quite a few that played for AEL Limassol, perhaps iceman can help us out.

Things weren't as segregated as Halil likes us to believe.

DT, searching, I found the following article. How things have changed.

http://www.kibristakulturmucadelesi.org ... (1902-1955).pdf

Re: GC teams playing matches and forwarding the receipts to earthquake victims in Turkey/Kirshehir. Page five.
The year was 1938. Ataturk must have been pleased.

Odd that at least two GC teams had the words ENOSIS in their names. Is this currently so?

I met Defterali in 2004. He was wheelchair bound. He passed away a little later. He spoke perfect Greek and he told me the story when Makarios, as president in 1960 or 1961 visited the Chetinkaya club. Defterali made a welcome speech and kissed his hand. Makarios told him that he spoke better Greek than 80% of Greek Cypriots. Many people claim he was the best Cypriot player ever.

I meet another, former Chetinkaya player at Bizim Ahir. His name escapes me. He is about 70 now and he walks with a limb. He is black and speaks good Greek. When I ask him "how are you" he always answers "pseftozioumen" meaning, "just about alive". A fine gentleman he is too.
