as much as I sympathise with the innocent people of Haiti,the amount of aid pouring in from all over the world is heartening but missguided unless it is distributed by an armed force to prevent the criminal element rife in that country from stealing it all to sell for profit.It is a lawless and corrupt island that has been in a mess since it gained independance from the French 200 years ago.Voodoo,drugs,theft,rape,hiv,you name it Haita has it so I say look after the needy not the greedy.

Come on GR, 'half hearted response': $100,000,000 extra Aid on top of the $200,000,000 the US provides to Haiti, annualy plus the provision of 6,000 personnel.

If only the other Superpowers provided such a 'half hearted response', Haiti would be in a lot better position. take for example, oil rich Iran - its contribution (as far as i know) is just 20 tons of supplies!

The US does mnay bad things but to critisise them regardless of their actions makes no sense.
