I am looking to get my grandmother's birth certificate. She was born in Cyprus and has a baptism certificate from Lemesos.
Does anyone know where I can start looking? I am in New Zealand so by internet is best though I will hopefully come to Cyprus soon.
Her surname was Patzatsis though her baptism cert has her as a child of Kosta and Maria Stavrinou.

I dont believe you will be able to find anything online i am sure you need to come to cyprus and go to an office that deals with birth certificates.

if you know where i will need to go when I get there, or the name of the agency or department that deals with these requests, then that would be very helpful.
I won't be able to stay long in Cyprus because of money.
If it possible I would like to contact the agency beforehand by phone so I can take everything I need with me or make an appointment if necessary.
I also wonder if as her granddaughter I will be allowed the certificate or if my mother might have to request it instead.
