How I would see a unitary Cypriot State vs partiton.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

We dont, we live in the TRNC which looks like it will be around for a lot longer than your life span.

Look north from your side of the divide and you will see it.

Is that when members of the Turkish Armed Forces shove a gun barrel up your right nostril and demand your passport?

lol no actually the tc police men and women are very friendly to me, i show my ID card not my passport. after i pass a lot of gc police who are always watching tv in the little station things.

they say please, thank you and are kind. then i tell them that the north and south is the same country and one day they wont be standing there with guns and turkish flags holding cyprus hostage...

Well, that's something to look forward to... that is if there is any real move to reconciliation. I'm still not optimistic about that, but anything is possible, I suppose.

Yes that's true. anything is possible. apart from partition. its like if gc side asked for enosis. and i am sure not many want that enosis.

you had some good suggestions for peace and reunited land. i think some of the deeper issues though the leaders cannot agree on it's taking them forever they should be sitting everyday for as many hours as it takes instead of having 1 meeting after what seems like 50 years.

That's why I sided with partition more than anything else, Palio: because I just can't see that there will be serious reconciliation and thus a partition deal would be the best thing that one could hope for. However, if partition cannot be accepted either, then it does not leave many options.
