Relatives of 126 women and children who were killed in the massacre have been in search of those responsible for the atrocity since the opening of crossing points.

In a statement, the President of the Association Ahmet Asir said that 30 of those responsible for the killings have been identified and that members of the Association forwarded the list of the names to the Greek Cypriot Prosecutorship, asking for a trial.

He reminded that women, children and the old were left behind under the mercy of armed Greek Cypriots until the 14th of August after unarmed men from the three villages were taken captive by Greek Cypriots on the 20th July 1974.

“Those people were subjected to all sorts of torture, including rape”, Ahmet Asir said while recalling the bitter past.

He went on saying that they were taken from their homes on the 14th of August after being told by the Greek Cypriots that they were moving to a safer place.

“However women and children were later killed in persecution” he added.

Some of those are people are still alive halil. Let's hope all those criminals end up in jail at last. I like GC criminals ONLY when they are in jail

All criminals from both side must be end up in Jail . I always wanted .... they must be punished.

Have to agree.

When you think about it, what sort of society allows murderers and torturers and rapists to walk around with impunity? With contempt for Laws?

Lock 'em up! ... and throw away the keys! (after a fair trial)

especially the foreigners who think they can commit crimes and run into the north and get away with it after bribing everyone to leave them alone in the north

GR took it Pyrpolyser, I couldn't stand him alive, what will I do with him dead?

Good thing they arrested the killers of Chadjicostis though, for it was very uncomfortable for me and all of us who voted YES in 2004, to be considered possible culprits.

Twisted sense of humour old girl.

These have been residing in the freedom loving, law abiding, truely democratic and legally recognised lovely roc for decades. Fancy that. That's what the whole world needs a true just democratic system like the roc. Where criminals are legally protected from prosecution.

He is a very brave Greek-Cypriot who dared to go to these villages and speak with the relatives of those who were murdered..BUT please remember that the culprits were a bunch of EOKA B psychopaths with very low intelligence and no morals and most of them have since died anyway!Dragging this issue up now will not help solve the Cyprus problem and should be dealt with very sensitively.Like wise Tochni/Taskent and other places where terrible events have occurred.
